With my background in hair and design, I was drawn to fashion photography, but the thought of it left me feeling empty.

 

When I moved back to the South from California in 1996, I found myself with many nieces and nephews to "practice" my photography on.  I started to realize I could make portraits of families that could be on the walls of these children's homes when they are adults and be handed down generation to generation.

 

This gives me a great sense of purpose and joy as a photographer.
